Privacy Policy
One-line summary
We do not collect your personal data. There are no user accounts, no comments, no behavioural analytics, and no third-party advertising SDKs. You do not need to sign up to read anything on the Site.
What we don't collect
We never collect, store, or process:
- Name, email address, phone number, or other identifying information;
- Precise location (only IP-derived country-level inference appears in server logs);
- Browsing history or click streams;
- Device fingerprints;
- Linked third-party platform accounts;
- Wallet addresses or on-chain activity;
- Any biometric data.
The Site has no account sign-up, newsletter, or comment login feature. RSS subscription is anonymous: your reader fetches /feed.xml, but we do not know who you are.
Server access logs
The Site is hosted on standard web infrastructure that automatically generates standard HTTP access logs containing:
- Timestamp (UTC);
- Requested URL;
- HTTP status code;
- Source IP address;
- User-Agent string;
- Referer header (if any).
Logs are automatically deleted after 7 days. They are used solely to:
- Detect and mitigate automated attacks;
- Diagnose site errors;
- Get a rough sense of which tutorials are popular (to inform what we write next).
Logs are never shared with third parties and are never processed by any analytics service for behavioural profiling. Under GDPR Article 6(1)(f), the lawful basis for this limited logging is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Site.
Referral-parameter tracking
When you click any link on this Site that points to OKX, a small client-side script appends the parameter ?invitecode=OK18866 to the destination URL before navigation. Specifically:
- The parameter is added only to the outbound URL—nothing is written to a cookie or local storage;
- It fires only when you actively click a link;
- Its sole purpose is to identify "this visitor came from CryptoDesk" inside OKX's affiliate system;
- No information about you is transmitted back to us.
Once you arrive at OKX, OKX's own privacy policy and terms of service apply, and CryptoDesk's policies no longer govern that interaction.
Third-party websites
The Site contains links to third-party websites, including OKX. Those websites operate under their own privacy policies, and we accept no responsibility for them. All outbound links include rel="noopener noreferrer", so your browser does not send a Referer header to the third party.
Minors
The Site's content (crypto assets, derivatives, trading tools) is not intended for minors. If you are under 18 (or under the age of majority in your jurisdiction), please do not use the Site. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 within the meaning of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA, 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501-6506).
Your privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA, and other laws)
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data—for example, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), or Brazil's LGPD.
Because we do not collect personal data about you in the first place, any "right to access," "right to deletion," or "right to opt out of sale" request is automatically satisfied with respect to this Site—we hold nothing identifiable to delete or disclose. We do not sell or share personal data under any definition used in the CCPA or other state privacy laws.
